Compared with conventional LEDs, a single PT54 chipset emits ten times more brightness Other benefits provided by Luminus’ latest chipset include “instant-on” with full brightness since there is no lamp warm-up time, wide color gamut and digital power management to optimize battery life and brightness. Luminus’ PhlatLight LED technology is setting new brightness standards for pocket projectors. “The PT54 is the latest example to benefit from these innovations, which will allow our customers to achieve very efficient light engine designs, while delivering high screen brightness." "Our innovations in packaging, thermal management and optical coupling has led to a truly versatile product line that is enabling applications never thought possible by a solid state light source,” said Christian Hoepfner, vice president of products at Luminus Devices. The PT54’s three-color system includes a red, green and blue LED, each capable of sustaining extremely high power under fast pulsing or continuous mode operation, and is suitable for DLP® (0.55” SVGA), LCoS and HTPS LCD microdisplays with a 4:3 aspect ratio. The PT54 has been specifically optimized for maximum efficiency for microdisplays that are between 0.4-inch to 0.6-inch. The PhlatLight PT54 was created as a light source for microdisplay-based pocket projectors. When combined, the chipset produces up to 1,400 peak white lumens in pulsed mode operation. The PhlatLight PT54 chipset includes separately packaged red, green and blue LEDs that are each 5.4mm 2. today announced a new PhlatLight™ chipset specifically engineered for small microdisplays, including high brightness pocket projectors and heads-up projection displays, as well as other general illumination applications.
